This Privacy Policy explains how Cazador Digital LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use the Ailelo mobile app (the “App”), visit ailanguagelearningapp.com (the “Website”), or interact with our marketing, such as email, social media and advertising (together, the “Services”).

We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

1. Who can use Ailelo

The Services are for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, our sign-in provider, Clerk, may also receive basic profile information from Google, such as your name. We do not ask for your age or date of birth.
  • Study materials you upload. You may upload textbooks or other learning materials, usually PDF files, and sometimes CSV or Excel files. We process them to extract vocabulary, grammar points and chapter structure, and we keep that extracted content in your account. The names of the files you upload may appear in our technical records (see Section 7).
  • Content you create in the App. This includes flashcards and their scheduling state, words you add, your written answers to writing exercises with their grades and AI feedback, your study progress, and your study sessions and time spent.
  • Typed chat with the AI tutor. Your messages are sent to our AI provider to produce a reply. We do not keep a copy of typed chat on our servers. The conversation exists on your device while the chat screen is open.
  • Voice recordings. If you answer a conversation prompt by speaking, the App records your voice and sends the recording to our AI provider to evaluate your answer and reply. Our servers hold the audio in memory only for that request and do not store it. We keep a small usage record per spoken turn (file size, duration, cost and a result label), but not the recording, the transcript or the reply. The App deletes the recording from your device after it is sent.
  • Support messages. If you email us, we keep the correspondence.

Information created through your use of the App

  • Lessons, readings and audio generated for you from your study materials.
  • Usage and plan information, such as how many lessons, readings and chat turns you have used in your current subscription period.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information. Our servers and hosting provider receive technical data when your device connects, such as IP address, device and app version, and request details. We use it to deliver the Services and keep them secure.
  • App updates. The App checks for updates through Expo (EAS Update). Expo receives your IP address, your app version and platform, and a random installation identifier each time the App checks.
  • Purchase information. If you subscribe, Google Play processes your payment. We and our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receive your subscription status and related details, such as plan, dates, whether it is a trial, and a purchase identifier. We do not receive your payment card details. RevenueCat identifies you with an internal account number, not your email address.

The App does not include advertising SDKs, does not use the Android advertising ID, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Website and marketing information

When you visit our Website or join our email list, we may collect:

  • Contact details you submit, such as your name and email address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies that remember preferences and measure traffic.
  • Analytics data, such as pages viewed, referring site, device type and approximate location, collected by a website analytics tool.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide and operate the App, including generating lessons, readings, audio, flashcards, writing feedback and AI tutor replies from your own study materials;
  • create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • process subscriptions, manage your plan and enforce usage limits;
  • keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and comply with law;
  • diagnose problems and improve the App;
  • respond to support requests;
  • send service messages and, where permitted and with your consent where required, marketing about Ailelo;
  • measure and improve our Website and marketing.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded materials, messages or recordings to train our own AI models.

4. AI processing

The App uses AI services from Google:

  • Google Gemini API receives the content needed for a task: pages from your uploaded materials, your typed chat messages, your voice recordings, your written answers, words and example sentences for glosses, and the words and grammar used to generate lessons and readings.
  • Google Cloud Text-to-Speech receives lesson text to turn into audio. It does not receive your account details.

We send only what a task needs. We use Google’s paid API terms, under which Google does not use this content to train its models.

Please do not upload or say anything containing sensitive information you do not want processed this way, such as government ID numbers, health information or financial account details. AI output can contain mistakes, so check important information against your own sources.

5. Your uploaded materials and copyright

Upload only materials you own or have a license to use, for your own personal study. When you upload, you confirm this. We process your uploads only to provide the App’s features to you. Your extracted content is kept in your account and is not shown to other users.

The original file you upload is deleted from our storage as soon as processing succeeds, and in any case within about 25 hours.

6. How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Services, and only as needed:

  • Clerk for sign-in and account management.
  • Cloudflare for hosting, databases, file storage and background jobs.
  • Google (Gemini API and Cloud Text-to-Speech) for AI processing, and Google Play for payments and distribution.
  • RevenueCat to manage subscription status.
  • Expo for app updates.
  • Our email service provider and website analytics provider, for the Website and marketing emails.

We may also disclose information to comply with law or valid legal requests, to protect rights and safety, or in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Where data is stored and how long we keep it

Our primary database and file storage are hosted by Cloudflare in the United States (western North America region). We keep information as follows:

  • Account and study data: until you delete your account or the relevant content.
  • Uploaded files: deleted when processing succeeds, and within about 25 hours at the latest.
  • Voice recordings: not stored on our servers (see Section 2 for the copy on your device, if any).
  • Typed chat: not stored on our servers.
  • Textbooks you remove: the extracted content is deleted. We keep a minimal record that the upload existed (without its title) and related cost records until you delete your account.
  • Technical records: operational logs and background-job records can contain internal account numbers and the names of uploaded files. Background-job records are kept up to 30 days, and logs are kept for a limited period.
  • Backups: our database keeps point-in-time backups for 30 days, so deleted data can remain in backups for up to 30 days before it expires.
  • After account deletion: we keep a one-way hash of your sign-in identifier for 7 days to finish the deletion safely, and a record that a deletion happened (random ID, dates and counts, no personal details). Billing events that arrive after deletion are kept without any link to you.
  • Billing and tax records: kept as required by law. Google Play keeps its own purchase records.
  • Support emails and marketing data: until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe, subject to legal requirements.

8. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time in the App: open Account, choose Delete account, and follow the steps. This removes your study data, uploaded materials, generated content and subscription link from our systems, subject to Section 7. It also removes your sign-in account.

Deleting your account does not cancel your Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play under Subscriptions to stop billing.

Some small items may stay on your device after deletion, such as app settings flags. Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes them.

If you cannot use the App, request deletion by emailing [email protected] from your account email. We will respond within 30 days. You can also remove a single textbook inside the App.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We do not currently offer a self-service data export, but you can email us and we will handle access and copy requests manually. You can correct your email through your account sign-in settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and similar regions. Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (providing the App), our legitimate interests (security, improving the App, limited marketing), your consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies, where required), and legal obligations.

California and other US states. In the last 12 months we collected the categories described in Section 2 for the purposes in Section 3, and disclosed them to the providers in Section 6 for business purposes. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Marketing emails. Unsubscribe any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. You will still receive necessary service messages.

10. International transfers

We and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards for transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or a provider’s data transfer framework certification.

11. Security

We protect information with measures that include encryption in transit (HTTPS), per-account access controls, time-limited signed links for your files, and secret keys held only on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Cookies and similar technologies (Website)

Our Website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies make the site work. Analytics cookies help us understand traffic. Where required, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, and you can withdraw it at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. The App does not use cookies for tracking.

13. Links to other sites

The Services may link to third-party sites, such as Google Play. Their privacy practices are their own.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. For a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email.
